Vienna has a comprehensive paid parking zone (Kurzparkzone) covering all 23 districts.

Kurzparkzone (Short-Term Parking Zone)

Applies Monday to Friday, 9:00–22:00. Maximum 2 hours. Free on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Parking Voucher (Parkschein)

  • €1.70 per 30 minutes (from July 2026)
  • Maximum 2-hour ticket: €6.80
  • 15-minute free parking ticket available (purple ticket) at Trafik shops

How to Pay

  • Parkschein machines (cash or card) at the street
  • Apps: Handy Parken (official, requires Austrian phone number), EasyPark (works with foreign cards, recommended), or WienMobil

Residential Permits (Parkpickerl)

Residents can purchase an annual permit (Parkpickerl) for unlimited parking in their district. Required for Anrainerparkplätze (resident-only spaces).

Park & Ride

€4.60 per 24 hours at U-Bahn terminus stations: Hütteldorf (U4), Erdberg (U3), Spittelau (U4/U6), Siebenhirten (U6), and others.

Garages

  • Public garages: approximately €2.20–4.50/hour
  • Hotel garages inside the Ring: €30–50/night

Exceptions

Some outer districts have different hours. Shopping streets: Mon–Fri 8:00–18:00, Sat 8:00–12:00, max 90 minutes. Motorcycles are exempt from Kurzparkzone fees.
